'Watch Now' Issue

If you've tried watching Barackula the last few days you may have noticed the "Watch Now" button directs you to a jpg instead of the "theater page" to watch the film. We're correcting this  and the movie will be up again shortly.  

Barackula Songs on iTunes!

"Running" and "This is Our Time" are now available to download on iTunes. Download them and tell your friends to do the same!  

  

Air Hockey Tournament

Many of the Barackula cast and crew belong to the Jeanne McCarthy Air Hockey League. On Memorial Day, May 26th, we are hosting the championship tournament at Yankee Doodles in Santa Monica. The champion will take home a nice-looking trophy, one-month membership to the Cinefamily Silent Movie Theatre, and other modest prizes.

There's still enough time to register. There are no entry fees. Just bring enough quarters to play.

Times and other info will be posted later this week.

News!

Fox News and MSNBC both featured Barackula this week. Savannah Guthrie interviewed Justin live on Thursday's show, and a couple weeks ago Brian Noonan talked with Gavin and Justin on WGN Radio. We'll have a link to these interviews soon.

We are currently working on more songs and more material. Stay tuned.

720P HD VERSION UP!

If you don't mind a couple minutes more loading time you can watch Barackula in 720p HD. There's also a new 480p version too. They're much better than the standard "Play" version.

Nice Dream?

Quick thing: A newspaper article mentioned our production company as Nice Dreams Entertainment, with an 's'.  Our production company is actually just Nice Dream, not Nice Dreams Entertainment.  I wouldn't do a search on Nice Dreams Entertainment unless you're into porn. Think Radiohead, not -- I won't go there.  Hope this clears up the confusion.

Barackula Coming Tonight!

Hey it's Mike Lawson. 

Good news. The movie is finished, sort of.  It should be online for all of you to see tonight. I'm hoping midnight pacific time, but we've got to fish through a few technical issues first. Exporting 480p files from the pro res version takes a good amount of time. Our editor/DP and Superman himself, Mark Mannschreck, is on a film shoot in Long Beach. When he gets back I should know more. Oh, major thanks to Chris at Perennial Media for hosting the film. For the launch we'll have a 480p and ipod version. 720p and 1080p versions probably won't come for another day or so.

I had such a great time help make the film. I think we all did. We shot the film January 26th & 27th in Pasadena. Filming went smoothly for the most part, but the hours were long long long long. Even still nobody complained. Everybody put on their work face and slugged right through it. 

I'm very pleased with the end result but we're not finished yet. We're gonna send the film through a scratch color system and make an HDCAM version.
